Terms of Service
Effective 13 August 2026
The terms you agree to when you use Cheli.
Using Cheli
Cheli lets you create, organise and share checklists. You need an account to create and keep your own checklists; you can browse the public library without one.
You can tick items off a public checklist without signing in. That progress is held against a cookie in your browser, and moves onto your account if you later sign up on the same browser.
You are responsible for what you put into your checklists and for anything you publish or share.
Your account
You can sign in with an email address and password, with a verified phone number, or with Google or Apple. If you sign up with email, your account is only created once you confirm the address through the link we send you.
Keep whichever method you use secure — anyone who knows your password, or who can receive your messages or open your Google or Apple account, can sign in as you.
One account can have more than one of these attached. Use the same account rather than creating a second one.
You may close your account at any time from your profile settings. See 'Closing your account' below for what that removes.
AI features
Cheli can generate a checklist from a prompt, break an item into sub-steps, write descriptions, and regroup an existing list. To do that, your prompt and the relevant parts of the checklist are sent to Google's Gemini API, which produces the text.
AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything that matters before you act on it, and treat it as a starting point rather than advice. It is not medical, legal, financial or safety advice, whatever the checklist is about.
Do not put confidential information, other people's personal details, or anything you would not want leaving your device into a prompt.
Generating without an account
You can generate one checklist before you sign up. That checklist is created in the public library, credited to Cheli rather than to you, and it may later be made publicly visible and search-indexed.
It is not a private draft, and it does not become yours by having asked for it. Save a copy to your account if you want your own editable version.
If a checklist generated this way contains something that should not be public, tell us at legal@cheli.app and we will remove it.
Credits
AI actions cost credits. Everything you do by hand — typing an item, ticking a box, dragging to reorder, sharing a list — is free and unmetered.
Credits are a daily allowance, not a balance you buy. They reset every day at midnight India time, and unused credits do not carry over to the next day.
Credits are not money. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged, and are not refundable.
One AI action runs at a time per account, and we apply fair-use limits behind the daily allowance. We may slow down, pause or refuse AI features for an account that is being scripted or is otherwise using far more than the plan is meant for.
What each action costs, and how many credits a plan gives, are shown in the app and may change. Material changes will be notified in-app.
Plans and billing
Paid plans raise your daily credit allowance. Current plans and prices are shown on the plans page in the app.
Plans are monthly and recurring. Paying sets up a mandate with Razorpay, our payment provider, which charges the plan price each month until you cancel or the mandate reaches the end of its term.
A plan becomes active when Razorpay confirms the payment to us, not when the checkout window closes. That is usually seconds, occasionally longer.
If a monthly charge fails, Razorpay retries it. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and stops if the charge is never collected.
You can cancel at any time from the plans page. Cancelling stops future charges; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and there is no partial refund for the rest of it. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Saving checklists from the library
Reading a public checklist and ticking it off is free. Taking an editable copy into your own account is the paid action.
Your first few copies are free — currently three. That allowance is counted once for the lifetime of your account: deleting a copy does not give the free save back.
After that, each copy costs the price shown on the checklist at the time. Prices can differ depending on who published the checklist.
Content you publish
Publishing a checklist to the public library makes it visible to everyone and copyable by anyone. Publishing is reviewed before it goes live.
Only checklists you wrote yourself can be published. AI-generated checklists, checklists you downloaded from the library, and checklists shared with you are not eligible.
You keep ownership of what you write. By publishing, you grant Cheli permission to display and distribute it within the service. Selling published checklists is covered by the Creator Marketplace Terms.
Acceptable use
Do not use Cheli to publish unlawful, harmful or misleading content. See the Acceptable Use Policy for the details.
Availability
Cheli is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or free of faults, and features can change or be withdrawn.
Requests are rate limited, and AI features can be paused when the service reaches its daily processing ceiling. Everything that does not need the model keeps working when that happens.
Closing your account
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
Deleting your account from your profile removes your account, your checklists, and any checklists you have published.
Cancel your plan before you delete your account. Deleting the account does not by itself cancel the recurring mandate you set up with Razorpay.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in-app. Questions go to legal@cheli.app.
